    Description

    From a South Seattle estate, we are delighted to offer this hand carved and painted wood Mexican ceremonial mask; from the early to mid 20th century. The design is an eclectic sculptural form depicting a zoomorphic animal human hybrid, having a stylized rabbit with outstretched paws; superimposed on a human face. Masks of this kind were sometimes known as the Conejo (Spanish for rabbit). This piece shows old patina, paint loss and scars consistent with age and use. It measures approximately 10.5” long.
