Antique Scientific Recorder Brown Instrument Co Seth Thomas Movement Temperature

Up for sale is this Antique Scientific Recorder made by the Brown Instrument Co of Philadelphia with a Seth Thomas lever action movement. It was patented in 1918. I’m not sure exactly what this measured or recorded but my guess is temperature or pressure. Back measures about 11” diameter, front about 10 1/4”, about 4” deep, dial about 9 1/16”. Missing its glass, probably missing something else from the center shaft. Selling for parts or repair. Both mainsprings are good and the movement has been ticking since I wound it, however it didn’t feel fully wound down, so it definitely needs cleaning and service at least.
